The Wolff family history in insurance and financial planning began on April 1, 1954, when Thomas J. Wolff, a graduate in economics from the University of Connecticut, was licensed to sell insurance. He and his wife Bette lived in a small Cape Cod house where the first office of the Thomas Wolff Agency was in the attic.
By 1967 the Agency, now named Wolff-Zackin due to the addition in 1963 of Arnold Zackin, CPCU, had moved to the brand new Vernon Professional Building near the old Vernon Circle (now Tri-City Plaza). Wolff-Zackin was one of the largest and fastest-growing independent multi-line insurance organizations in Connecticut, having achieved an amazing 500% increase in business in the prior six years. The biggest reason for their success was their motto, “Service Beyond the Contract”, which was patented in 1967 and embodied their day-to-day work ethic.
In 1974, Tom’s eldest son, Gregory S. Wolff, CFP, joined the Agency to expand the life and financial planning practice. He was with the agency for 27 years and for much of that time served as Chairman and CEO of the Agency.
On June 25, 1982, Wolff-Zackin and Associates moved into a building of their own at 135 Bolton Road in Vernon. The structure was set into a lovely New England hillside and combined a classical colonial exterior with a truly unique atrium in the center.
After four years in the venture capital business, in 2000, Keith J. Wolff, CFP, CLU, Greg’s son and Tom’s grandson, began his career in the insurance and financial services business, becoming the third generation of the Wolff family business.
Wolff-Zackin’s property/casualty and group health divisions were sold to Webster Bank in 2001, but Greg and Keith, maintained their own boutique financial planning and life insurance practice. Greg and Keith formed a partnership and became one of the leading producer groups in the country for life insurance and financial planning. Randi K. Saboski, WMCP, joined the firm as an advisor in 2010.
Greg, Keith, Randi and their staff, currently occupy offices at 201 E. Center Street, Manchester, CT. All three of them believe that trust and integrity are the most critical components in any successful advisor-client relationship and are committed to these principles. Their objective is to provide innovative solutions to help their clients achieve their insurance and financial needs and to continue the more than 65-year Wolff family tradition of providing “Service Beyond the Contract”.
